    Hi there,

I've been on the same kind of eating pattern for the past few weeks too. Have you noticed any fat loss yet? I'd say you might need something a bit more substantial than a ryvita pre-workout..

    Hi,

I've defo had comments about loosing weight but cant really notice anything myself. well maybe ill start having a small portion of brown pasta or rice but im not sure wether that's the right thing to eat. what would you have?

    Shell

I'd say you're fine with small amount of wholegrain pasta/rice. You could also just have a banana and apple.

know exactly what you mean - I have noticed some fat loss and I def have more definition around my abdomen but it's like watching the grass grow - sometimes I look again and it doesn't seem like a huge difference. That said I am defo thinner than when I started training back in June - I have the photos to prove it..!

I think that you are eating too much late in the evening, do you really need to eat 2 chicken fillets before bed if you are trying to lose weight?

Eat one before the gym with your brown pasta.

[EDIT] - also, you need a lot more protein, bar the 2 eggs at lunch and a few nutsyou are really only getting your first proper protein intake before bed!

well thats good. i think ill try the apple and bannana before work out as pasta/rice is not in my diet.

Is eating late at night a huge problem. I thought this was a myth.
I eat chicken fillet with veg and beans hour before workout. I then eat half tin of tuna with an egg white and beetroot after workout ( bout ten)
I thought overall consumption throughout the day is more important than the time you stop eating.

If you're having trouble seeing progress, take pics every two weeks or so and you'll see the changes. It's hard to see improvements without pics unless they're massive.

Eating large portions late at night is not good. The food you eat is just lying in your stomach and it takes longer to digest and the calories are no being used up while sleeping. If you are working out at night it is good to have something small but not a whole dinner.

Well if it's after the gym then it's not too bad - and you are not having much anyway, but the OP was basically having 2 dinners!

I don't agree with this at all. I work out fairly late, start anyhere from 8 to 9:30. I generally do an hours heavy lifting - all compound stuff. I have a shake and bannana afterwards, then shower, then my dinner. Before bed I'll have a chicken fillet, tin of tuna etc.

I want as much as possible in me straight after my workout, right when my body needs it. The following morning I'll have a huge breakfast and another meal 11ish. I then go easy and until following days workout and straight into same cycle again. Over the course of a week I eat pretty much maintainence cals and have been putting on muscle and losing fat (slowly) for months now.

A very simple comment from "Dragan" (who seems to have disappeared from boards??) a good while ago sums up what and when to eat for me

"Eat for the day thats in it" ...search for AnaCat on TeamTest forums for more details.

Thanks for all the advice guys, yeh i agree with mack 1 im not getting enough protein during the day and i as worrying about eating late at nite. but i tot ur body needs protein after a work out so i read here, maybe ill just have a protein shake instead of the chicken wat dya think?

Yeah a protein shake would be good.

iascanmore - I agree with what you are saying for when you are doing heavy weight lifting and trying to build muscle you need alot of food but as for weight loss it is not good. They are just wasted cals that could be used during the day.

Hey Shell, im going to concentrate on your workout. How tough is it. There is one thing going to the gym every second day, its another thing getting a quality workout in that facilitates fat loss.

Are your workouts tough? 45mins of cardio with 80% heart rate?

Are you sweating a lot during/after your workout?

You have to get out of your comfort zone, are you out of your comfort zone at each workout?

This is not for everyone but are your workouts hard enough that you nearly dread them? (this one will knock the BF off)

Be honest with yourself (and us ;)) then you will see the results.

    Jim
