Would this be weird?

I met a girl at a graduate assessment day, the other day and we got on pretty well. I was chatting to her a fair bit and it turns out she shares a common interest of mine that almost no other girls have. It’d be unusual for a guy to know more about this interest than me, but for a girl that would be unheard of!

I stayed chatting to her and the group (mainly her) for a while after I finished up for the day, she didn’t finish until a couple of hours after me. When I left I was thinking to myself that if I was there for longer that I would / should have asked her for her number (even though it may have been a bit inappropriate on an interview day), but never got the chance. She made quite an impression on me, she’s funny, smart, good looking, out going, genuinely nice and shares my biggest interest – which is the main attraction if I’m honest, a MASSIVE attraction!

So anyways I was on bebo and just saw that one of the people who I’m friends with has her as a friend. Would it be weird if I sent her a bebo email? Maybe asking her how she got on on her day with the intention of asking her out? Or would I look like a complete physco? Girls, what would you think if this was you? Would you think stalker?

I know that it may look a bit desperate…”a girl that you were chatting to at an interview day” She might be like “who the hell is this physco??” if she doesn’t remember me! I wouldn’t normally think of doing this, only it’s so rare to find a girl with this interest!!!

I know that if she doesn’t reply or sends me a “please f off” that I’ll probably never see her again (even though I could end up working with her next year). But the other side is that in reality I don’t have much to loose other than looking weird to a girl who I may never see again!

Should I give it a shot?

    Thanks in advance.

Go for it! She won't think you're a physco at all..''hey, i stumbled on your page..you're a friend of a friend! how's things, what did you think of the other day'' etc. etc! Don't ask her out in the first mail though..get a momentum going! Good luck!

lolz my story is a bit different but once i saw a guy at the bus stop once, about half an hour drive from my house, since then it just hit me that this is the right person to be with, but since i was too stubborn i didnt come up to him.. so it took me eight months to find him and actually talk to him :D now we happily together for 7 months now.. bright future ahead too :)

Anyways, my point is if u really feel that this is the right girl, i do not think that "beboing" her will be as u said "wierd".. lolz
Dont miss a chance now :) u ll regret it in the future!
stalkin is not always bad :D lolz

Sounds like a good idea to me too.

Just send her a message or leave a comment saying that you noticed that one of your friends was hers also. Ask how she got on, blah blah blah you can pretty much take it from there. ;) Good Luck!

Don't forget to tell us how it goes. :)

Just drop her a message on her bebo commenting on seeing her smiling out of your mutual friends bebo page (a little bit of flattery goes a long way!) and ask how she felt she got on.

Nothing whatsoever to lose. Chances are she'll be flattered, and you could at the very least have a new friend! :)

Sounds perfectly fine to me. I'd do it anyway. What's the worst that could happen?

Now, what in the name of God is this interest?

Thanks for the advice everyone, I think that I just needed a bit of encouragement so I'll give it a go and see what happens. As a lot of people have said, I've got nothing to loose!!

The interest is nothing weird (as I may have made it sound!!) its just more of a thing that guys are into and its unusual for a girl to be really into it, so thats why it impressed me so much!

I'll post an update if I get a reply or no reply or a f**k off you physco!!!

That's why we're all wondering what it is, you're so mysterious about it!

Don't see anything wrong with this. She'll probably be delighted to get the attention at the very least, and if she reciprocates, then great, if not, sure nothing ventured nothing gained man.

I work in a job where I have access to personal information all day long, and I encountered a girl through work once who lived near me and had common interests. I was interested, but I never followed up because to do so would be unethical. She hadn't sent her details in to be solicited, etc. I'm 95% sure that even if she weren't interested, she wouldn't have gotten me in trouble, but why take the chance?

This situation is different, as you encountered her details on Bebo, a publin page. You should absolutely contact her, and I wish you all the best in the endeavour.

The fact that she is friends with your friend makes it quite plausible that you chanced upon her bebo.

    Do it.

Nothing to lose and lots to gain.

Did it before myself. Met a friend of a friend at a birthday party and got on well with her, regreted not asking for her number but didn't feel appropriate at the time. About a week later I thought "**** it" and mailed her over Bebo and then a few days later we met for coffee.

Seriously I wouldn't think this a bit weird and chances are if you got on well she's wondering about you too be it in a "kinda fancied him" way or even just a "cool guy" way.

Either way nothing to lose so go for it!

    Love random encounters like that.

They're what make the world so interesting.

    Best of luck.

    A. :D

Definately do it absolutely nothing to lose.. Just keep it plain and simple in the initial mail though..

And if she didnt forget you it means you have passed through her thoughts since then and she will be definately interested..

sure whats the worst that could happen

So she could think you are stalking her get the gardai involved and you could arrested for stalking

But what are the chances of that happen

    Have a good time;)

I so want to know if you asked her out. If you havent already you just soooooooo have to.

Similar thing is happening to me and he hasnt asked me out, very disappointed as this eye contact thing has been going on for ages, now i just avoid him as i dont think he is ever going to approach me. so be confident.

Approach him. He'll like it ... and maybe you will too.
