Not quite sure if this belongs here but anyway. I'm a girl, planning on losing my virginity this coming Saturday to my boyfrind who's also a virgin. We're not sure which lube to get,can anyone advise? We will be using condoms so it can't be oil-based. Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)

KY Jelly is yer only man- i think this is safe enough to use with condoms but it will tell you if you google it- its mega if you are anyway dry and as its your first time you want things to go smoothly so to speak and not to be sore so go for it and good luck

Doc Johnson make an, ahem, er, "Rear Entry desensitizing anal lube" which is also suitable for the 'front bottom' - ideal for the first time - though it might desensitize things a little too much...

I do!! if the op is embarresed she can always go to the chemist, or boots and get points, or go to ann summers. Durex have a few on the market i've used play, tingle and heat, play is probably the best bet plus all the durex ones are safe to use with condoms, have fun op!!

Edit: forgot there is also a 2 in 1 message oil and lube from durex that is also safe to use with condoms, playing around with that for a while might help ease any tension or anxiety that might be there with it bein the first time.

Well, rather than nick it, yes.

Why on earth would you have a problem doing that?

KY is good. Durex play also, but the pump action bottle is annoying.

    +1 Astroglide

    You can order it online.

Took the words right out of my mouth!

The durex massage lube is great and it works for a bit of foreplay too, its in a purple phallic bottle, easy to spot. Its also edible (ok non toxic!) so you can put it anywhere and not worry about it. Doesn't actually taste that bad either

I don't know why but I would just find something like that sort of strange.

Eh sorry where can I find some Lube?

I cant imagine someone would not just look at you in shock.

In the supermarket you could ask where the cucumbers and spray cream are at the same time just to give em something to talk about in the canteen. Seriously, why on earth would you be at all embarrassed anyway.

In fairness if your buying in the chemist the staff are well used to it and wont bat an eye.

Much to my horror, next to the cotton buds in Tesco was not a new brand of tooth paste, but KY.

Tesco also do self service tills.

    So nobody needs to know.

I never got why people get embarrased buying lube or condoms I mean what's the big deal?

no you have to call this guy who meets you in the multi-storey car park after hours: go to the 2nd level and behind the 3rd pylon where the lights are broken you'll meet him there. He expects to be paid with a bushel of washington red apples and a rhubarb pie.

OR you just walk into Tesco and buy them - theyre in the medicare aisle, a stones throw away from the self-checkout.

also Ms.chiaki who wont use her own account to post:

its also water based and wont affect the condom

personally speaking i didnt use lube my first time
    most people dont

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 53 ✭✭strawberrybox

its so not a big deal anymore i just pop my tube of ky jelly into my trolly with my toothpase and that in tesco and nobody bats an eyelid

but if you want something a bit different ann summers do a great range of flavoured lube that actually tase really nice and some tingly stuff for yourself but as its your first time you might want to wait to explore all of that stuff and just stick with the normal stuff , incidently why do you think you might need lube or why do you want to use it???

OP- the Boots own brand lube is the very same as KY imo - also, there is more in it and it costs less;)

Edit: Forgot to add, it's safe to use with condoms aswell

:confused:a little off topic but why do all these people need lube

    Not everyone is the same.

For some activities, lubricant or additional lubricant is needed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

Latex condom sometimes require the use of additional lube.

the lube in tesco is not in one of them boxes with the tag that needs to be removed its just in a normal tube - look we dont want to scare the hell out of the op as this is her first time but yeah sometimes condoms can require an extra bit of lube or she may find she needs no help at all in that department - well let us know how you get on

Yeah its called play. Its in a red box. Its looks like a box of 12 condoms so be careful as you would be disappointed if you got home with them thinking they were condoms and then realised you only had a box of different flavoured lubes and not a rubber in sight.

Security tags tend to be on small expensive stuff that people are inclined to steal.

Unfortunately this tends to include condoms.

I've used tingle myself in the past and tend to find that it does alot more for me than it does for the lady, even though it's supposed to be the other way around. Would recommend it although a fair amount of foreplay beforehand should get you pretty horny and wet in the first place.

In relation to giving people something to talk about in the canteen... many many moons ago when I worked in Dunnes myself I knew I was visiting the then GF after work and what we'd be getting up to so just for a laugh during my lunch break I plopped exactly this onto the counter:

One litre bottle of red rooster (a red bull type ripoff drink)
One 12 variety pack of durex (which also include various different sachets of lube should you wish to experiment)
    and one pack of cigarettes.

The girl at the till just gave me a very wide-eyed look and said sweet feck all. Hate to think what she thought of me after that :P

Have to agree with this one - and its currently 2 for the price on 1 on all lube in Boots

It is great fun stuff, but ya tend to have to keep using it if you are giving a massage, as it does dry up and go kinda tacky after a while.

Picture buying the aforementioned massage lube and condoms in tesco, of course the condoms are in one of those plastic cases... the woman on the counter can't get it open... queue building... woman and small boy right behind you... woman still trying unsuccessfully to open the casing... has to call for someone to come and open it for her... -_-

Chemists and pub vending machines from here on!!! :D

Ahhh yeah I used to have a tube of this lying around and come to think of it now you're right... had to keep reapplying as a massage oil much longer than I'd have to do with say a massage bar from the likes of Lush.

It works a treat just using it as a lube though and if I remember correctly it says on the purple plastic... container thingy that it's in that it's suitable for both massage *and* lube.
