Question to IAA

Hi, just wanted to find out why the registration of the new players is happening only in HRTA? It's much easier for an IAA representitive to visit Drogheda, G-Tac, Longford sites, rather than for all players to go to HRTA site. The representitive could set and agree the date of arrival with the owners of the sites, so all the regular players are there. In this way, I think, the number of airsoft players would increase, and be of help when representing sport to officials. What do you think?

i agree not all of us can get to swords and there is a demand for registering, unfortunatly until Cork or Mayo gets a site i have to endure long jouneys on rare occasions to get to HRTA

Its not easier for the representitive! HRTA is their local site. I don't think they'd find it too easy to get to drogheda or galway. If you wanted to volunteer to collect registration I don't think they'd object too much though.

Yep lads print it out and post it in. I did the same as well before they started with the extra facility for members at HRTA. FFS its only the price of a stamp.

For the love of god, think of the Postie! Poor postie will have to carry an extra letter on his/her rounds. And those envelopes have pointy corners....you could take an eye out with one of them!

No no, I'm afraid that just won't do.

    Tomazas,
i just rang the IAA and asked to help out with the registrating of new players with the IAA and some of the regular players printed copys of the IAA registration form and left them on site for now players to pick up if they wanted to, all you have to do is ring the IAA and ask if it's ok with them and print the forms and hand them out, it's up to the sites to help out the IAA, the IAA are not getting paid for all the work they are doing it's there time and there money at the momet, so the least we can do as site owners is help in any way we can.

I printed out and completed the forms and have spent the last 2 days trying to figure out where to post them to. Am I blind or is the address not mentioned on the form or on their website?

Jay send a pm to one of the IAA lads, they will give you their personal address. At the moment they don't want their addresses out in public for obvious reasons.

    afternoon all,

Tomazas, unfortunately visiting all the sites at any sort of a regular interval is just out of the question at the moment as there are very few of us right now, we all work full time, and we're currently spending a lot of our time getting things together for the upcoming AGM and responding to the various articles in the daily papers (not to mention the radio interviews of late and another upcoming one). So the time to do this just isn't there.

Hopefully, things will change and we'll get a few more people into involved roles after the AGM but we need to get the structures in place before we can do this.

The reason that HRTA have forms is that, first and foremost, they took the initiative and printed them up from the downloadable files on the website.

For the moment, those who cannot get to HRTA to register can do so by post. As I said, all the necessary documents are in the downloads section of the website and membership for the moment is free so it literally just costs you the price of a stamp.

The postal address, as already noted, is not on the website because right now, it's a personal mail address (we can't afford either a PO box or an office right now) which as you can imagine, is better kept out of general circulation. This address can and will be readily provided if you drop us a line to irishairsoft@gmail.com.

Once the AGM has been had, we will (hopefully) have more hands on deck and possibly be able to rectify this (the possibility of regional reps is being considered).

We're aware that the situation is far from ideal but unfortunately, given the current number of bods and the current finances (or lack thereof), it's all we've got for now.
(indeed, we wouldn't even be doing as well as we are were it not for the financial support of our affiliates, and the efforts of several of our members acting in niche roles - all of whom will be thanked personally at the AGM but if i try do it now i'm sure to leave someone out :o )

I'd say some of the regulars in the regional skirmish sites would be willing to collect the applications and every so often bring them up to Dublin (when they're going to HRTA for example). Is there no airsofters well-known/trusted enough to be given this task? There's bound to be 1 or 2 willing to carry it out.

It's obviously too big an undertaking for the committee members to have to do.

But I'd say it would lead to an increase in membership.

i'm going to hrta this sat so if anyone wants they can post me their applications care of the iaa and i'll bring them down

btw its a little known fact but an post will deliver lettters that don't have stamps
so its the cost of the evvelope and i use those one they give out for scratch cards and scribble out the addy

regional reps is a good idea tho but really i think that the posting system is fine
