    Well Folks...

I'm in the process of getting a USA Legend across from the states. Am really buzzed about getting hold of it - reviews are great - build quality and classic 60s strat sound etc...

Here's the thing - Was talkin to me bro (who's a v-experienced guitarist) at the weekend and he reckons I should be going for a Highway 61 strat and tweak it - upgrade pickups etc.

To be honest he's kinda taken the wind outa me sails a bit

    Any thoughts?

No, I'd say you made the right choice.

Your bro's talking bull**** right there methinks. Given the choice, I'd go for the G&L also, so there's certainly no reason too feel like the wind is out of your sails.

Cheers Dudes... I spent a lot of time researchin this one and really think I made the right move... For the money and stuff.

Wouldn't have bothered postin except I do respect me big bro's opinion when it comes to electro-planks...

A lot of people seem to feel safer choosing the big name brands than a manufacturer that's not widely known over here. It's worth bearing in mind that the G&L Legend is a refinement of a design classic, but it was refined by the guys that designed that classic in the first place. Good choice, as I said. Enjoy your guitar, play the **** out of it and make sure you post pics when it arrives.

    Which colour did you choose?

    Exactly Doctor J...

That's what I was saying to me bro at the weekend. He's a real Fender-nut but doesn't get the point that the G&L Legend is Leo Fenders last guitar design... No to mention the top-end build quality everryone mentions!

I'll defo post some pics when i get her. Me mate's bringin it in from the states (duty-free... cough-cough). It'll be the Fullerton red one.

    BTW - Getting it off www.pedalgeek.com for $899US - great price I think! ;)

    Good choice OP!

If you look at Leo Fender's designs through the years you can see that each one was an improvement on the last. From Fender to Musicman to G&L, each one building on the past designs. G&L was the final point, and I believe his best designs. Especially in terms of electronics. How many people do you hear of switching out the electronics in G&L's??? Very few, if not none! :)
