I for one would be interested. Perhaps an article on Sanda would be best to start with as there are a lot of mma guys on here. Sanda as I understand is a form of full contact kickboxing which invoves a lot of takedowns?Saw some Sanda V Muay Thai stuff on Youtube, looks interesting.

I think you will find that Thai vs Sanda or san shou is not really Thai..as the Thai Boxer is NEVER allowed to use elbows and probably modified use of the knees with grappling, so in short its not a true reflection of art vs art.

Yeah - San Shou/Sanda as an article would be great to read.

Thanks guys , I will get some articles on Sanda / 散打Since you guys mentioned the elbows aren't allowed in the matches, here is some more info. infact the chinese and the thai made a deal , Thai would only agree to not use elbows when Chinese do not use throws over shoulders. I think if would be really effective if sanshou takedown techniques combined with brizilian jujitsu.

Just like everything else, in a testing capacity they should just fight VT rules.

    Peace

Cung le is San Shou practitioner who is now fighting MMA, he's not half bad either. His throws are brilliant

Guys .what is VT rule? Cung le is very slow, but his take down techniques are from sanda. Here is a link to a takedown demo, it is on a chinese online video website, takes a long time to load.

VT - Vale Tudo, without rules or with minimal rules in combat. I think its a Spanish term?

    Brasilian Jon Brasil!!!!

I means "anything goes". When I was in Portugal last year I saw a clothes rack with Vale Tudo or some derivative of it and I thought, "cool, MMA clothing" but actually it was like "Everything must go" or something like that. Felt like a tool because I went over to it with an excited face and when I got there it was an old women's rack.

Sanda/ Shan Shou/Short fist and Long Boxing are very different. Also Elbows are allowed in Sanda

Also the only clips i have seen of Cung Lee is exhibition matches and while his takedowns do look good, they are only good in the context that it is only an exhibition match.

He's had 5 fights and 5 wins, all by strikes. I see he's beaten Jason Von Flue, not a bad scalp to have. Exciting fighter, hopefully we will see more of him in MMA. Anyone know what his grappling skills are like ? BTW, what's Crocop been doing lately ? Had enough of the UFC I'd say :o
