Prospective Purchases

So, I'm starting a thread to discuss prospective purchases and to get peoples opinions.

I'm considering a kjw m9, full metal but I hear the mag lips arent very strong, and eject bbs when fired.

Apart from this are there any other known issues as google has revealed lovely review of guns when new but little of long term use.

Anyone own one of these and does bb diameter affect the above mentioned issue? (excels can be 0.05 mm smaller than others, affects the gbb mac users.)

    Thanks

Very coincedental you should say this. Have one and never had any problems, till yesterday! Before the bbs loaded perfectly but know they're jumping and flying out the top/jamming the slide. But i just switched to KSC perfects from excels..maybe they're a different size(slightly). Will test it tonight with both.

    Lethal.

id have to reccomend the baby hi capa for the quality alone, ive heard of problems with the M9 mags when a little piece of the plastic cracks on top of the mag where the BBs go in. under pressure the crack opens and spits the bbs but then the crack closes and its hard to see it.,

Yes the idea is excels are very slightly smaller.

I've my heart set on an m9, in metal, I cant stand plastic guns.

Are there any other compatible mags from tm or anything? Edit: they are meant to be compatible.

So is the ksc m9 alot better? They do an all metal m9 also.

the high cappa has got to be one of the nicest looking pistols on the market.
    whats it like performance wise?

The HFC is probably the best unless you dont like toy like trade marks.

Hfc mags will work in it, and i hear the Bell m92 mags work well in kjw's but wait till someone confirms that. they certainly dont work very well in my Hfc versions :(

Ok ksc kjw uhc m9s, ksc is most expensive, is the uhc any good and is it compatible with these guns?

How likely is it I will get the kjw and be p155ed off with it when it malfunctions, do they all malfunction?

do ya mean the HFC? as far as i know Uhc just make springers, if your talking about the Hfc then ya its compatable and it rocks [ive got 2 :p ] Ive tried kjw,HFC,Tm and bell mags in them and the Bell mags are the only ones that wouldnt work.

Well the KJW is a very good gun aswell, and alot of people on here have and swear by it. ya cant go wrong with either the HFC or Kjw m9's

    Yep the hfc!

uhc hfc kjw ksc uhsckjscuhfs AHHHHhhhhh!!!! I just want a F*****g M9!

I'm nearly sure TM and KJW M9 mags are interchangeable. And after the track record of the bell m9, wouldn't bother with them. All the KJW full metals I've tried/seen work perfectly. All a very decent weight and good recoil, especially the 226/228.

I've just completely overhauled a we 5.1 and I most certainly am not interested in doing that again!
I listed every thing in the off topic thread, it took alot of my time.

Plus I hate the sight of the thing!

I hear the kjw is non adjustable hop though?

OP, hope you don't mind but I'm in a similar position as yourself looking for
a new GBB pistol. Like yourself was considering the M9 but am now tempted
by the Glock 18c - has anyone any experience of them?
Any particular 18c model/variant to get? Best gas?

No no not at all, take my thread go on, have a ball.

Only messin, I started this thread to get general discussions going, not necessarily reviews but experiences with various brands, as reviews are often done only about short term impressions.

Just to confirm, do the kjws take TM mags? To avoid that lip busting sh1te.

Also 18c's are full auto if I'm correct, was looking at the kjw Glock 27 myself.

    Which HiCapa? WE or TM?

They don't differ much in performance but the quality of the TM seems more consistant. I got lucky, I suppose, with my R-type. Did I mention that the Umarex needs a lot of TLC? Having said that the R-Type is a little heavy for lugging around with all the ammo, the AEG, Tac Vest etc.
So, I suppose, a good compromise would be the WE Baby HiCapa. Motosam could provide you with better info on that one.
(Seeing as he hasn't brought it to HRTA for me to fondle yet........

Dont get we 5.1s, unless you want to do alot of work.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,169 ✭✭✭Alvin T. Grey

That's cleared in later editions. The grip safety works fine now. Still has cool down problems and needs a lot of TLC, but if you want the weight..........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

The cheap 5.1s, if it seems too good to be true, it is.

Saying that my 1911 is fantastic, but you are at the mercy of whether a taiwanesse company will bother redesigning old parts for old guns they can still sell on the cheap.

I'm just saying be very careful of what We you buy.

And the heavy slide is more a hinderance than anything, rof, gas efficiency, slow opperation contributes to cool down with more gas released at a time.

    New question,

    Which clone aksu?

    Dboys, cyma or unicorn?

Dboys mags are incompatible with other brands but can be modified,

Unicorn are made of steel but Dont know much more about them, heard the odd iffy thing about quality in the early days, but has it been improved?

Cyma, full metal with compatible mags, but not steel, and some issue with pins falling out, maybe a unicorn issue too.

    Please discuss.

I'm new to airsoft and as I was searching around I came across a review of the KJW m9.Fairly good 'cept that the recoil spring might wear out pretty soon and try not to get dirt in the gap between the front sight and the barrel. Other than that it's a good buy
