Good doctor in Dublin 15

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in Dublin 15?

I have a GP around the corner from where I live, but I've never had much confidence in them, far too prescription-happy, they also dont take appointments so you can end up waiting for up to two hours on a visit.

I'd like to register with a reliable GP so any recommendations would be much appreciated, if possible - closer to Clonsilla would be good...

    thanks v.much

Do not go to Dr. Dilworth in Hartstown (across from eurospar), he has biten off more than he can chew. Always packed.

Is that the one on the corner Adrienne? There are always loads of cars parked around there, it looks like it could be a nightmare inside.

I've just switched from Dr. Rafter in Hazelwood because the surgery hours were becoming a joke they've been cut back so much. Now I go to Dr. McDonald in Portersgate. I only needed a new prescription for inhalers and he wrote it out on the spot, even though I'd never been to him before. There was no examination or anything, which I thought was a bit strange. He seemed like a nice guy, but that's the only time I've been to him so no idea what he'd be like if I was actually sick.

I've heard good reports on Dr. McDonald from some colleagues. If its the guy Zaph mentioned than I belive he aslo does an accupuncture clinic as a sideline.
My docs down on the Navan road, too far for the OP but he (Dr. Hayes) is without doubt the best GP I've ever come across.

Dr. Hayes is brilliant. He's at 104 Navan Road, right opposite the Garda Station. Might be a bit far to travel but he's very good.

Mine was Dr. Jacqueline McCarthy in Roselawn. She was in house across from the shopping centre and is now in that medical place where the library used to be. She's excellent.

The one directly across from the shopping centre car park entrance. The cottage on I think Cherryfield Lawns or Park or something... with Cherryfield in it. I've stopped going to him even though I haven't found a new doctor yet because he does be so packed all the time.

I am very happy with the Meridian Clinic (Dr McCarthy as mentioed before_. What I like is the fact that there are specialists for various ailments.

I've always gone to Dr. McCarthy, though since the Meridian Clinic opened up I rarely see her. Don't even know the names of the two other Drs. that have seen me there. Decent though, never had anything to complain about.

the doctor your thinking of is DR. Lavery. unfortunately the meridian has a tendancy to move some of it's doctors around and he's one of them.

Ciaran187, I've removed your post - those are serious allegations, and if you want to pursue them, its probably better for you that you havent publicly made accusations. PM me if you have an issue with this.

On the few occasions I've had to bring my daughter to a Doc I've used the Centre for Family Medicine in Blanchardstown Village.
This used to be run by Dr Lacey now run by Dr Calvo and Dr Mansour.
All give a top class service and no problems getting seen.

I'd say the Meridian. Much newer setup and as previous posters have said they have a lot of people specialising in different areas. Also there is never really a wait more than 20 mins.

Dr. McDonald is a good doctor and a nice man but you can be 2 hours waiting in the waiting room with about 10 or 15 other people.

I would like to know where I can find a good G.P. Used to attend Mederian Clinic but never seem to get the same G.P. Dr. Connolly was good but it appears he has left.
