I know it has been mentioned but here it is again, i'm half thinking about getting it purely as a show piece due to the cartridges. Hopefully it's under 1J

I would get one too. If other people are interested, we should group the order and see if they offer any special price or something like that.

I hear tell it's firing around 400 fps with .2's. Sounds about right as that's what all the new Dboys stuff is firing at.

    Meh pity...

It is hard to get a license for that?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,314 ✭✭✭Fiach Dubh

It's not possible to get a licence for it. It's power is to low to qualify for a firearm licence but too high to own without one.

and you wont be able to use it at a skirmish.,

Yeah, looks interesting and I'd love to get one, but.....take a look at the picture that shows a top, rear view of the reciever, thats quite a split line. Theres a LOT of plastic 'wood' on that gun, I'd say it'd feel pretty tacky and given that its made by a clone brand too I doubth the quality would be there, but maybe I'm wrong? How does the M14 stock feel?

Perhaps you can get a real wood stock from another airsoft manufacturer? Or a milsurp one and fit it, thats what I'd be doing anyway.

I didn't plan to use it for skirmish. I'd like to get one and put a wooden stock on it, and just use it for target shooting, but it seems complicated to get a license. I could ask for a friend or my brother to keep it for me in another country but what's the point in buying one if I can't use it whenever I want.

It's not the Tanaka K98 which is possibly one of the best guns ever made in every department.

    Plastic wood on a K98 - Yuck.

It's also a copy of the Maurshin one which is terrible, hop needs sorted out and the shells ejecting is very annoying.

I hope you are getting it downgraded to less than 328 fps?

Make sure they do as it will be destroyed if customs check it.

Danger is a bolt action can jump up 50 fps depending on the seal with the hop, quality of spring, friction in piston, and can vary in clones.

There are a load of cases of snipers upping fps by up to 100fps(usually less) in other countries with just a bit of tape around the nozzle to improve the seal, and some friction mods, but this is intentionaly done.
This is usually done with cheaper models but I have read that the results can be fairly substantial.

With a clone who knows what factors may push it over the limit, with less stringent quality control.

Given the spate of differing reviews of the fps of this gun, id advise anyone buying one to have it chronoed first, and if this one comes in at less than the joule I'll be very happy to get one myself.:D

Just advising caution is all, no one wants their new airsoft destroyed.

The plastic seam lines are supposed to be bad but wood effect looks okay...I would have preferred it without shell ejection

Rsov dont have a downgrade service, but Gunner Airsoft does, I believe.

And the JG AUG is firing at about 320 FPS, not 220.

    ah right thanks...
ah meant 320, that means its legal then...
