I'm not competing but I'd like to compete in PL at some point. Do you have to compete in a qualifying event before taking part in the IDFPA national champs? I know there are qualifying totals for the various classes but i'm not sure whether those are for the national or world champs or both.

I'll be there at 90kg equipped.

@BrianD3 - just do it! Anyone can enter the nationals once you sign up, no qualifying total necessary and the totals to qualify for the worlds are pretty low anyway.

Cool, thanks tribulus. Best of luck for the nationals, judging by your diary you'll be well prepared for it.

I'll definitely consider competing in the 2009 nationals or maybe in a non national comp before then. Would be delighted if i achieved the qualifying total which I think is 457.5 kg for my class. I would like to bring my bench and squat up a lot next year as at the moment they are crap. (bench 90 kg, squat 120 kg @ 75kg) However there's scope for improvement eg I have been benching and squatting since the summer but am slow to get the hang of the legal depth squat so my squat is an ATG pause squat. Plenty of time to work on these things though.
