    just spent two days shopping in the big smoke (liffey valley one day, dundrum the next) and why is it that all is out there is 1)casual wear (jumpers etc) and 2) glitter, sequins, and shiny 'party' wear.
    all i want is a nice nite time top, i DONT want to be a bloody disco ball for the night. dont get me wrong the casual wear is gorge,but theres just nothing unilluminated out there....

    (rant over):mad::mad:

    Because it's nearly Christmas! Shops are full of full-on party wear.

    I feel your pain.... Its also difficult to find tops for ladies who may be a bit well endowed in the chest area.. I have plenty of wrap over tops but would like something different.... All those tops that are in fashion now look like maternity tops and make me look huge...

    Has anyone seen suitable tops????

    Lol its just how fashion works? Its the same at any time of the year there are certain styles in and out. Christmas does evoke feelings of glitz and glamour (think, M&S's very grand xmas ad!) If you want something different i suggest looking online or even in shops that arn't so high street, places like Topshop, H&M, River Island etc are all in the same vein you have to seek out shops that do something different.

    i dont object to glitter per se its just that in my local (tiny, dark, old country pub where the clientele have travelled 10 miles by tractor to get there) its just a tiensy bit overdressed! im in my early 30s and consider myself to still be in the fashion loop so the only answer is to stay in and sulk for the christmas!!:rolleyes:

    or don't be a sheep and dress up and fee good, even if you feel out of place to start you'l still look better than the others there! Come on it's Kilkenny! I'm from New Ross! I share your pain! So I dress up!
