    Not something that needs to be "policed" Some days it might seem like there are too many but as with anything else it corrects itself after a bit.

    P.s. Terry your a super duper mod.

    Regardless of the date: I'm moving the "wot do I buy my loved one for xmas?! i only no them for 201 years and sleep with them. im lost for ideas." To hell with your democracy. To hell with you all.

    Jackz: Wrong. So very wrong. It not only require policing but police brutality. I'd say so as a user of Boards.ie who has tolerated the front page filled with this crap. I'm saying so as a moderator who gets to oppress these idiots. muhahaha! I don't want to be mean... it just happens... er... >_>

    8th is fine by me. The way things are with stores selling Christmas stuff in November the novelty of Christmas has worn off long before Christmas arrives.

    Until the poll and thread closes and gives us a clear and definite answer, we will continue our fascist oppression of the satan claus.
    We're only thinking of you, the users of AH, the most prized asset of AH and indeed Boards.ie, want.

    But when does the poll close?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,396 ✭✭✭✭Karoma

    When the set timer reaches 0 or a moderator closes it. Duh. Stop asking stupid questions, stupid user.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,239 ✭✭✭✭WindSock

    I didn't know they could be timed. I don't even know how to set up a poll. Stop trying to reason with stupidity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,061 ✭✭✭✭Terry

    Oh. I don't like closing polls.
    I think they should remain open indefinately.

    How can you be christmas fascists and use a democratic poll at the same time? :confused:

    I've worked so hard to ignore christmas over the last month

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

    December 8th is good. It's when I put my tree up so I'm going into Christmas mode then!

    Coincidentally, if someone would be so kind as to photoshop a little santa hat on my av I would greatly appreciate it!

    Might I just say there appears to an inestimable dose of unseasonably festive affection oozing from the esteemed AH mods tonight. Is it the weekend already?
    Oh sorry, Pat's announcement about the shortage of Wii's this Xmas:(. Nuff said.

    Keep working hard, comrade. ¬_¬

    The 8th of December is a bad, sad day. The 1st of December is now. Now is ALWAYS better than bad, sad days. (The most important day in December is the 16th anyway.)

    Happy McChristmas, one and all! (:p)

    Isn't the 8th the bog savages day out to the big shmoke?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,016 ✭✭✭Blush_01

    Yes, because there's a one day window of opportunity for bog savages to visit "the big shmoke". If you don't get in on December 8th, then you'll never get past the border control!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,202 ✭✭✭✭Pherekydes

    Well looky at the poll! :eek:

    No need to keep it going. It's official, Christmas season starts on the 8th!

    I have no tv so I missed the toy show, I have exams from Monday, I have to teach the brats for two weeks after that, I can't afford Christmas decorations because I'm a poor student, I wont get put up the tree at home either because I'll be stuck in smelly student apartment, and I have to do my Christmas shopping without my family and boyfriend as they live in another county.

    I need Christmas threads, and I need them now! I have nothing else! :(

    Current threads that may be of interest:
    Toy Show -> Televeision
    Most other Christmas-related threads -> Gift & Festivity & Party Ideas.

    I think we should leave Christmas threads for at least another week or two. After all there are only 12 days of Christmas.

    Here's a handy rule of thumb I like to go by...

    Christmas = Nollaig, as gaeilge

    Agus

    December= Nollaig, as gaeile freisin.

    . .
    . . . December=Christmas in Ireland :D

    Nope all that means is that December = Christmas in Irish. But I see what you are getting at, move all christmas threads to Teach na nGealt. I like it.
