Bus Éireann Welcomes Positive Developments at LRC

After long discussions at the Labour Relations Commission, a proposal has emerged which it is believed will resolve the threatened dispute between the Bus Éireann and Unions representing part time school bus drivers.

Unions had threatened strike action to take place tomorrow Friday 07 December. It is now envisaged the strike will not proceed.

A Spokesperson for Bus Éireann said: “The decision not to proceed with strike action is welcomed by the company, thereby ensuring school children and their families are not inconvenienced. It is hoped that that a proposal put forward by the LRC containing an improved package for drivers in conjunction with new working arrangements will be accepted.”

Bus Éireann wishes to thank the Labour Relations Commission for their involvement.
