Debug PS3 issue

    I have a debug PS3 and whenever I try to use component it just will not work.

    I have one of those Samsung HD tv's and I normally use HDMI.

    I need to connect the PS3 up to my projector, which obviously doesn't have HDMI.

    My component cable is third party (ie: not made by Sony and not the official PS3 component cable).

    Before anyone starts blaming third party software without reading into it I just wondering if anyone has a solution or if anyone can confirm that the debug version doesn't support third party cables or indeed doesn't support component at all.

    Have you tried this?

    plug it into your projector,

    flick the power switch at the back of the ps on (so its in stand by mode),

    hold the power button at the front down until it beeps a second time,

    Does it display anything now?

    If so select component on that list and away you go

    Hi,

    I did that with the projector and the TV.

    The only way I can get a signal is to plug the HDMI back in and use that. This is even after i manuannly select component as the output method. It's really beginning to annoy me because I hate the PS3 enough as it is but if I can't even get it to work it just frustrates me too :P
