    Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find it.

Can anybody suggest restuarants in Dublin that offer good vegetarian options?

I'm organising a meal for a group of friends and one of them is vegerarian, so want to go somewhere that will accommodate the meat eaters but still provide plenty of options for my friend i.e. more than on veggie dish on the menu!

Indian or Italian restaurants are usually a good bet!

    Yeah, what Parnassia said.
    Also...
Yamamori on george's st (or ormond quay) is Japanese, very good, and do nice veggie food (the tofu steak in particular!).
The Cedar Tree on st andrew st (near wicklow st) is also very nice (Lebanese food).
Oh and there's a tapas bar in temple bar, called something like pinoxo which is also very good and quite cheap(despite the fact that they serve fois gras ). Tapas might be good if it's a group of people...

Thanks for the replies, some of the crowd are country bumpkins :-) so I'm thinking Italian, Indian, Lebanese or Japanese may not be their cup of tea. They're very much meat and spuds Irish style people! TBH I think you can't go too wrong with Italian :-)

My veggie friend is always the one the has to put up with a poor menu selection so I want to make sure she has a good choice of options whilst the country bumpkins aren't put out either. So any other ideas are very welcome!

there's no harm in ringing whatever restaurant and enquiring as to the veggie option. if you ask in advance the chef doesn't usually mind preparing something tailored :) let us know where you choose!

the Talbot 101 (on Talbot Street ok?) is a good compromise. Great food all round and good veggie selection without being patronising.

That place serves mankfish, what the hell is that?

Even though your friends are from bogland (like me!) I think maybe something different won't harm them every now and them. If they're coming up to the big smoke then they should taste the best it has to offer!
