    Hi Guys!

Hoping someone can help me perhaps..

I am hoping to send my folks to New York or perhaps Boston - they have been amazing the last 3 months while I needed brain surgery (they only found straw lol)

I have rang TrailFinders and they have said the cheapest would be around €800 each.

I am hoping to send them in February..

Any ideas where to get it cheaper or how much people normailly pay.

    Even links to cheap flights?

Thanks loads in advance, means a lot.

Hell we can even send them for valentine's day for cheaper (accommodation may cost a fortune though)

    www.delta.com

fly out 9am Wednesday the 13th with direct flight to JFK and come back on Tuesday the 19th at 7pm (arriving back for 7am on the Wednesday) for €400 (prices are in $ on the site so you get to take advantage of weak dollar)

    hope that is of help

Do not go near The Pennsylvania its a complete dive stayed there in feb and had to change rooms 3 times till i got one that was just clean and it cost about the same.

I have seen flights with Aer Lingus Return in February for €370 each.

If I do all this myself how does it work if I book online. Do I get a code or something and this will be all they need.

    Do they need a Visa?

And does anyone know if the Jolly Madison is a good hotel?

They wont need a visa, they fill out a visa waiver form when they get to the airport. They will need a reasonably recent passport though.

    Thanks :)

Is JFK a good airport to fly into also?

What's with the Passport thing - they are about 5 years old I think...

As long as it is Machine Readable they should be fine.

You can tell if it is by checking the bottom of the photo page.

If it has strange lettering and lots of >>>>>>> etc. It is machine readable.

What dates is that for? I'm only seeing 341 each way so far.

    +1 for Delta

Our flights from Shannon to JFK were <€400 return each this June.

I find gohop.ie is quite good for booking in the future. You can see all the airlines but it only lets you search specific day to specific day.
When you find a decent price go to the airlines website itself and book, avoid gohops admin charge.

Got to the midwest the other week for €480.

If you go AA let me have your airmiles....pleeez : )

Got a flight to DUB-JFK in mid january for €335 return on Aer lingus's sale,
they also have DUB-JFK 18/02-26/02 for €335 also

I can't see you getting a cheaper direct flight than that!

Newark is a far more civilised experience than JFK and Continental don't have any stopovers at all.

Stayed there also in june for 5 nights with the girlfriend. Small but clean and possibly the best location. Would definetly recommend it, 5 nights was about €800 for her and myself. Flew with delta shannon to jfk cost €900 return. Very enjoyable flight Aer Lingus are brutal. Oh and avoid The Pennsylvania at all costs, absolute dive!!
