Surround Sound System Suggestions

    Hi There,
    I'm in the market at the moment for purchasing a surround sound system that has the following functionality.
    Connect my TV
    Connect a Stereo
    Connect a PC

    I have had a bad experience in the past with a surround sound system my father purchased. I spent hours trying to hook the thing up to the TV but it only worked with the DVD player that came with it. Obviously i want to avoid this in the future.
    Can you suggest a particular Make / Model i should go for around 2-300 mark.
