I am trying to set up a funk band. In the style of Jamiroquai, Nikka Costa and anything else with a sexy rhythm basically.

I am looking for a experienced guitarist, bassist and drummer who are looking to get their groove on and get a funky set together to gig in the near future.

    Interested?????

    Hi Lady L,
Are you planning on doing covers or originals and what kind of rehearsal frequency are you aiming for?
    Cheers

thanks for the interest. emmm i'd like to do covers... but with an orignal twist, you know? mainly just to get gigs really easily and frequently and cos i'd like to do covers for a laugh and a bit of a change. i am working on other orignal projects at the mo too.
alot of thinking outside the box is needed to give the covers our own slant so creative minds who thrive on quirking it up are essential really. obviously orignal work can be done where possible.
rehearsal wise 1/2 a week. very early stages though so nothing set in stone.
i really just want to see who and what is on this and see if there is the bones of a funk ass group.

send me demos where available really. and we'll take it from there.
i have a portfolio and sample tracks on my myspace demo...
you're very welcome to check it out.

I'll kick any of your asses on the guitar, and keyboard as well. With my brains & good looks, and your work ethic we are destined to scale the dizzy heights of a mention in the back pages of the hot press or event guide.

    Hi

I would be very interested in getting involved with a funk band in Dublin, my Preference would be for originals.

I am a guitarist with some production knowledge and have written some grooves you might enjoy.

I like some acid like Incognito, Count Basic, Heavies, James Taylor Quartet but also modern day r n B and soulful funky house.

I am an experienced mature professional musician.

    John
