What does the movie exist on? Tape? If so, hook up the camera to you iMac with an appropriate cable, and import it into iMovie. I think there's an option in there to burn to DVD. It'll take ages to convert but should work OK.

imovie to edit the movie then export to Idvd to make menus etc - theres a burning function in there and you can download additional themes:)
