while on this subject, i read that there is 26 cals in a walnut half. what is a walnut half? is it two walnuts put together or is it one walnut broken into two? this is the stupidest post ive ever made but people who eat walnuts should probably know what im on about. i think.

Walnuts never are whole, they have to be broken into to get them out of the shell, so a full walnut is two pieces of wallnut as you see them or a wallnut half.

How beneficial are the mixed fruit & nut packets you can buy? (Raw Peanuts, Raisins, Brazil Nuts etc... ). From what I gather, they are very high in calories but are a good source of protein, good fats etc...

Good for you in small doses I presume  Is it ok a small portion (couple of handfuls) of these daily?

Definitely. Once you're not eating too many calories in total.
