Play Asia

Does anyone know if the games on play-Asia will work on a PAL Xbox360. I know the ones mark compatible with PAL will, but will the NTSC work if you are viewing the game with a HD cable and not using the Standard Definition which would require PAL?

yes , once the game is region free it will work on your 360 and with your tv no matter if it's marked pal or ntsc.

just make sure that if you are buying more than one game to buy them seperatly so that they are not the same order or else they will be packed together and you may get hit with customs.

dont worry about it to much as it can take a fair bit of time to get here , my orders take up to two weeks at times , plus it's a busy time of the year .

I have been waiting since the 17th Nov for COD4 and Crysis. Sometimes they can be delayed for weeks. They joys of budget gaming....

ocallaghanpaddy, if you ordered them at the same time it might have been stopped by customs, particularly around this time of year when they know more people are going to be ordering online.

Normally it takes about a week before I get my games from them, but with Xmas post... who knows.

I've been waiting almost a month for Call of Duty 4 as well. Seems the post is just very random. I got Silent Hill Origins the next day from my mate in Konami and Uncharted arrived in less than a week from Canada, yet CoD4 hasn't arrived yet and I ordered the Shield season 3 from CDWow at the same time and only got it 2 days ago. I'm going to give it a few days more before complaining. They are normally very good if your stuff doesn't get delivered.

I was waiting nearly a month for a DVD on cdwow. I started complaining and eventually your man gave me a refund as they had no more of the DVD in stock.
Of course it arrived the next day.
Felt slightly guilty but not too much so.

I don't think it's Play Asia's fault, reckon it's the postal service in general at this time of year.

Was full sure that my copy of The Orange Box from Play Asia was nabbed by Customs, but it came Monday. That took a good while.

Been waiting nearly 2 weeks for Mario Galaxy from CD Wow, not too bothered about that, as it's going to be kept for the X-mas holidays. Should bring back memories of getting the SNES Mario All-Stars pack from Santa back in '93 (?) I think. Deadly stuff!!

Post from HK is slower than the norm at the moment. I've never had a
PlayAsia order take longer than a week until my recent order for COD4 -
posted by Play-Asia on 23/11 and only arrived yesterday.

(Recent orders with Dealxtreme also taking longer
than normal).

Must be something up with the Hong Kong post as you said. My EZ-flash took ages to arrive from deal extreme and I'm still waiting on Call of Duty 4 and another play asia game to arrive.

When did Play-asia say they dispatched your items?
Seeing someone have their game sent on 23rd and arrived already is worrying.
I'm waiting on Orange Box longer than that and Bioshock about 5 days later.

my last order from play asia of 5 games was posted on the 23 of november and arrived yesterday all in individual envelops .

Call of Duty 4 was shipped on Nov 16 and Kane and Lynch (don't ask) was shipped on Nov 26 and both haven't arrived. I'll wait another week or so before I ask questions.

Same problems here retrogamer. I got on to them and apparently they're investigating it and sending a replacement, but the mail was kinda vague so they may not be sending a replacement. I dunno. I'll get on to them again if my game doesn't show up soon. Game was originally sent on October 30th

Well according to their website every item is "registered and insured" and that includes the basic airmail option, even if you don't get a tracking number. If so they have but no choice to send out a replacement if an item goes missing.

My copy of Mass Effect which shipped on the 21st arrived yesterday, but my copy of Ass Creed which was shipped on the 19th hasn't arrived yet.
Seems to just be a crap time of year to order something from that far away, but I'm sure you'll have it by the weekend...

Well my copy of the Orange Box popped in the letterbox today.

That reminds me, I popped into Xtra Vision today and they're doing Brand new copies of Bioshock for 29.99.
Of course I buy it online for 33 and think I'm getting a great deal yet 3 week later it hasn't arrived and I see a European copy for less.

Ordered the standalone copy of 'Guitar Hero 2' off PlayAsia a while back. It was the same day Guitar Hero 3 came out as I had just gotten it and the guitar.

Thought it was odd how it didn't arrived yet.. just checked it's status there:

Was it listed as in stock when you ordered, basquille? It looks like it might have been a backordered title. I was waiting ages for Orange Box to ship before I gave up and cancelled. I stick to new releases now.

So like 17 days? I think that's ok for the money you save. I use play asia for games I can wait for – for stuff I really want that day it's out e.g. CoD4 I get in Dublin.

The only reason i ordered it from there is because it's the only place you can get 'Guitar Hero 2' without buying the guitar. Unless i look for one on EBay i suppose.

Will give it til the end of the month anyways.. i'm in no rush with it to be honest.

You can see the delivery charge in the image i posted. It's roughly €2 (first time i ordered so I presume it's per-game).

Glad to hear it, I'd have been surprised if Play-Asia had mucked up as
I've found them up there with the best of the European online stores
in terms of reliability and customer service. I'd say the Christmas postal
chaos caused a fair whack of the delay - I know a couple of my orders
from other Asian sites took longer than normal over Christmas.

If anyone's ordering in early February, watch out for delays with Chinese
New Year.

Woah I thought I was waiting long for my 2 games(call of duty 4 and Assassins creed) which I ordered 2 weeks ago but some people had to wait many weeks! Hoping atleast 1 arrives tomorrow

My postman is fairly atrocious though, I once got my college exam results 1 week after everyone else.
