    Found the below on Wikipedia
'Christie was expected to make his re-appearance in the Dublin full-back line during the first round of the 2007 National Football League. This changed however, when Christie decided to dedicate himself to completing his Masters at University, although a possible return could materialise in time for the Championship.'

Great man to field a ball and great all-round defensive skills but his pace or lack of was often exposed.

DCU brought him in to do a masters in education along with Shane Ryan, Ross Munnelly and Diarmuid Kinsella. They're all school teachers and were doing the masters on a Friday evening and all day Saturday but alas, were ruled ineligble to play for DCU in the Sigerson Cup. That was 2 years ago so they should be all finished by now, unless you're Conor Mortimer that is! :p

So basically, Christie said that he wouldn't be able to devote his time to playing intercounty football with holding down a full time job and doing a masters at the same time. Then he just wanted to concentrate playing with Ballymun. I'd be very surprised to see him recalled to the Dublin panel. He's getting on in years and has been dogged by injuries. Hopefully Ross McConnell can step up to the plate this year.
