windows xp help

    when you buy a computer from dell should you get a copy of that xp version on a disc, because i didnt and my computer is telling me that i need to insert a disc to restore original programmes. do i have to buy the disc from dell, or what?

    It depends on the computer model / when you bought it.
    There must be a copy. It's usually on the HDD as another partition. Check the manual re: restoring it.

    They usually dont come with one....

    Your option is to reboot and hit CTRL F11 (Together) at startup to use Dell PC Restore

    Sometimes they're included, sometimes not. As already stated, you can probably do a complete PC restore but make sure you save your data somewhere else before you do it. You can also ring up Dell customer care and tell them that you deleted your restore partition by mistake and could they post you out the discs necessary for you to be able to do a re-install of your operating system.
