    Does anybody know of anybody who would audit a set of club accounts free of charge.

    I'm open to correction on this, but as far as i'm aware you can't perform an audit for a less than open market price. This is due to the fact that the auditors objectivity would be compromised i.e. why would you give a toss about doing it right if you weren't getting paid. I know that it is highly unlikely that that would arise but it could appear that way.
    That said most firms would probably quote a price to a club that would include little or no profit as the client is a non-profit making entity (possibly a charity).
    Sorry thats not what you wanted to hear but thats the situation unfortunately.

    That said if it wasn't a statutory audit (you may perhaps just want someone to have a look over the books to ensure there is no fraud) and no actual audit report was to be issued then i see no reason why it couldnt be done for free.
