Wireless TV sender with NTL DVR

Just wondering if anyone has any experience using a wireless tv sender with the new NTL/UPC dvr box ?
Want to be able to watch sky sports upstairs (I know that this will have to be tuned downstairs but normal analogue ntl channels can still be watched downstairs) and when I checked a few different devices such as the Philips SLV5400 it mentions that they won't work with certain boxes from Pace & Scientific Atlanta but don't know who makes the ntl box.

I know how to set it up, just don't want to get a wireless tv sender and then find it won't work with the dvr box.

This is probably referring to the ability of the device to relay the remote signal down to your STB.

If the PVR has a composite out, then it should be compatible with the sender.

But, I stopped using mine as it seemed to crash my WiFi network.

If it makes your wifi crash (They use same freq) change your wifi channel setting on your router? i had problems both ways (Wifi effected video sender with lines going down it and a clicking noise & vice versa the video sender sometimes knocked wifi off on laptops near to the sender) I set video sender to its lowest freq channel (Usually number 1) and my wifi router to its highest (13). This seems to have cured it, but the microwave ovens in the neighborhood plays havoc with it!

I have one made by 'Total' that I got in Argos, it works with the DVR.

My new wireless router has lost signal once, older routers had done it several times but the only time this did was the morning after the only time I used the video sender. I haven't tried to change the channel the router is on yet.

Some NTL boxes the remote control won't work via some video senders. The audio/video works.

The one I have works with both the old box and the DVR.

Argos digisenders works well with ntl boxes (remote) but they are the expensive ones. I got some from germany (Cheap) which also work with the digisender but the remote will not work!

Does any of you have any experience of using this transmitter which goes on sale with Lidl tomorrow?

    Any info appreciated.

I currently have NTL digital and have their wi-fi broadband too.
