ok we were getting complaints from customers about a virus, so i down loaded everything and did a virus scan and sure enough there was a virus on the index.php file (actually still have not fixed it!!) cause the only thing the virus scan seems to do is delete the file and then the web site won't work.. but to make matters even worse it won't up load the file again (i'm not sure if its cause it still has a virus or if i have totally killed it !!!!!!!!)

Hope its ok to post it here!!

    thanks!!

A virus in the index.php file? What did the AV call it?

What error did you get when you tried to reupload?

Does your site pull any Javascripts from other websites?
Have you examined your own Javascripts and server logs to make sure that nobody has injected code into your scripts that shouldn't be there?
Is your script embedded in the index.php page itself?

ok here is what we did...
We got rid of the anti-virus, opened in note book and took out the line of java (it was easy to spot in the end) deleted the line and then uploaded it!!
thanks for the offers of help!!

Next thing I would do is look at the access people have to your server. It got there somehow, and thats a hole that needs to be closed.

Does the transfer fail because the old file is still on the server?
