    I cant get any torrent clients to run on vista why

    might it have something to do with my viris protection i get a warning saying that it is being blocked , ive used torrents on my old pc for years but have a new laptop with vista they just seem harder to set up im also using nortons if that might have something to do with it

    Check that you have the ports opened in the vista/norton (or both!) firewall.
    If not. Go to
    Windows Firewall (control Panel)
    Allow a program through Windows Firewall
    Add a port. Name it "torrent program TCP and port number"
    Add a port. Name it "torrent program UDP and port number"
    Insert the same port number into each.

    Go to this page http://www.amule.org/testport.php
    Insert port number and hit test.

    If the port is now open it will say success.:)

    I dont know the method of doing the above with norton.
    I assume you already have done the above to your router.

    For a start if you have any commerical AV or fiewwall dump them. The free versions out there are much better. And will not block torrent programs.
