Question - Relative Newbie

Hey guys, was just wondering if you regulars could give me a bit of advice/guidance here.

Ive noticed since I started college in september that my fitness levels are dropping and ive slowly been putting on a bit of weight. Ive never been the most active lad in the world, but Im just noticing a lack of energy and getting tired a lot mroe after doing less strenuous activities.

Heres what I was wondering. It might sound a bit weird, or maybe not. But I would like to start going for jogs near where I live. Im not too fond of doing this during the day as I would usually have something else on or something like that. Im quite keen on jogging thought late at night/early in the morning, about 2am or 3am. I was thinking of going for my first one tonight. Is this odd? Do many people do this? Does it have any benefits/drawbacks? Energy levels would not be a problem at that time anyway because its when im at my peak both mentally and physically. Just hoping you could give me some advice here.

    Thanks,

    Arc.

I study better at night. I've done some of best training sessions around 11am too. Do whatever works for you.

If you're running at 2am tho, why aren't you in bed?

I think safety should be a concern for you.
At 2am don't going jogging down some badly lit road (hit and run by a car) but at the same time, don't go jogging near pubs and chippers where gangs of drunks are hanging around.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid but it pays to be safe

have to go with hanley on this, if you are complaining about a lack of energy during the day maybe it is because you are still up at 2 and 3 in the morning.

why does your energy peak at that time of the night.

What time do you get out of bed in the mornings, how many hours sleep are you getting?

What is your average day like food wise?

How do you commute to college. What are the other things "you have on", and do you have to travel to them.

I bet you could walk or cycle during the day. I have no need to set aside time for cardio, I get it all in during my working day, cycling to work, walking to shops/pub, housework etc- functional cardio. And it saves a fortune on taxis/cars etc. Cycling to work saves me at least 30mins compared to driving, so I actually end up with more spare time.

Well ive always been a light sleeper, in that I can function perfectly during the day with a 6 - 7 hours sleep under my belt. My time table is pretty sweet - Im not in until 10 or 11 most days, and I always walk wherever I go anyway.
