Know how you feel, same situation for nearly 5 years now :(.I presume you have seen a consultant, pain specialist etc??
I can't recommend you a "good" physio as i had no luck with any ,thats not to say you might.
Be very very wary of alternative treatments, most are absolute nonsense.Spent an absolute fortune over the years on them, total waste of time and money.
Swimming is good as well as walking etc but you must keep it up.
Hard to say really mate what may help, everyone is different.

I went to see an osteopath a few months ago after I hurt my neck and found him very helpful. His name is Cian Flynn and I think he is now based on Fr Griffin Road. His number is listed here:

As far as I understand, osteopaths are a lot more gentle in their approach than chiropractors, though I have never been to the latter.

Michael Gallagher, Baily Point, Salthill. You may have to wait a while to get an appointment with him but it's worth the wait. He knows his stuff, is a sound guy and more importantly an excellent physio - 091 589696.

He worked wonders with neck/shoulder problems I had.

    Cian is definitely brilliant!

If Osteopathy is not for you, try Stephanie Folan in Roscam (pm me if you want her number), she's a physio and also very, very good!

I've only been the once but have got to admit he was great. I know a good few other people who've only got good things to say as well.

i'll check out this chap first cheers mate, i don't want to go to the chiropractor anymore cos i fear snapping my spine is not good in the long run and irrepairable, the physio concentrates on muscle manipulation which is repairable and won't give me osteoperosis ;)

    Michael Gallagher, Baily Point, Salthill.

Just to add to my above post - Michael used to be at Knocknacarra Physiotherapy. The practice moved to Bailey Point in the past year.
