Buying an xmas present and came across this on Amazon, which is €7.

But it is €18.49 here on Play and the same on HMV's site.

    Bit of a difference there.

On amazon they have the brand new Lost Series 3 available for €26 when it's over €70 quid in HMV on Grafton St.

Am I reading this right and they just have great prices or is something up?

Amazon.com is US based, hence the price difference. You'll pay more for delivery (if they'll deliver to Ireland, don't know if they do or not) and may be subject to import duty and VAT on purchases. Amazon.co.uk would be a better one to check for comparison.

DVDs on Amazon.com are likely to be Region 1, so will only play on multi or non-regionalised DVD players.

It's coming to about €10 including delivery and it states on the site that it's "All Regions".

Then go for it, and slap your wrist that it is your first online purchase! you have probably been overpaying for years, these price savings are typical. A few years ago it was even more extreme, normal high street shops have finally lowered their prices due to more competition with online stores.

You are allowed up to €22 to be sent from outside the EU without being liable for tax or duty. Up to €45 if marked as a gift. And in the runup to xmas there is lots of mail coming in, only so many they can process, so they go for higher value items to get the most money.

It pays to shop around ,I've found amazon.co.uk not bad for certain items.
Even though they charge for delivery ,it still works out cheaper than play sometimes.
