USIT vs SAYIT

Pretty sure I'm going on a J1 this summer to the Boston / New York general area although I dont have anything booked yet. My question is: can anybody recommend Usit over SAYIT or viceversa when travelling? I've heard bad things about both honestly so I couldn't make a call on quality of service (although I've never used either before)

I went comparing prices and, since both companies have waved their programme fee to get me interested, I was left comparing the other costs. SAYIT ends up saving me a miserable €28 compared to the other crowd (assuming flights on taxes are going to be about the same no matter who I go with) Both seem to offer free stopovers and also offer similar insurance packages.

Are the stopovers offered by each company different? Theers no details of what cities you can stop in on teh USIT site. How long can you spend on one of these stop-overs in your chosen city? BAsically I want to know what experiences people have with USIT and SAYIT and which they would rcommend.

    Much obliged!

I went with Sayit and was happy, however the rep that greeted us when we got to San Francisco was completely and utterly useless. That's my only complaint really, if you're doing the J1 independent option anyway you won't have a rep when you get there. Aside from that they were very helpful and organised even though I was constantly ringing them/emailing them with stupid questions.

I'm happy to go with them again this year. This is purely anecdotal but everyone I know who went with Sayit was happy while everyone who went with Usit had something to complain about(I think having to pay for those international student cards was one common complaint- nobody ended up using them as everywhere that requires a student ID will ask for your college one, however USIT insisted that they were absolutely necessary).

Not sure about the stopovers- don't think there was a time limit when we went. We ended up in New York for 8 days.

Yeah i went to Canada in '05 with USIT and they were ok but as was posted above the international student card is useless, they got my DOB wrong on it as well! I think i'll give Go4Less a try this year for J1 although SayIt are just as tempting!

They all seem more or less similar in terms of price. I think I'll go with go4less because they emailed me first:p. I want to do the independent option anyway
