Wall socket signal problem - Who is responsible for fixing this?

My chorus digital had been gone for several days and I finally got a techie out today. After doing some tests he tells me that the problem is with the wall socket that the to digital box connects and that there is no signal coming in through it at all.

All apartments in the building are connected to a central hub downstairs and the signal is being recieved perfectly there, all the other apartments are recieving digital tv without a problem, however somewhere between that central hub and my apartment my signal fails.

The techie seemed a bit unsure but thinks it's probably the landlords responsibility to get an electrican in and sort it out. My landlord is a bit of a tightass so I want to make sure that it is his responsibility and not Chorus' before I go looking for it to be repaired?

Are you sure your apartment is connected to the central hub?
Maybe someone exchanged your tap and is getting now your signal.
Stealing taps is nowadays pretty common.

If it is a problem with the internal cabling then it isn't chorus responsibility to fix it, however I wonder if the technician done a cabling trace to see if he could locate your cable back to the central hub.

Chances of the cable being damaged in an apartment block is slim, If the cable is internal in the building. Is it a new or old apartment block. Its possible the cable was mislabeled and your just disconnected. I take it that it was working perfectly for awhile and just stopped working
