    hi all
im thinking of heading to hrta for the first time on sat 24th. the thing is i dont drive and the idea of sitting on a bus or train in BDUs and a gun bag looking at the worried expressions on the faces of my fellow passengers doesnt appeal to me. :)
as such i was wondering if any one was going through leixlip or dublin that would be willing to share a lift. im more than happy to share the travelling expenses. hope to see you all there sat and try to go easy on the noob. :)

I wouldnt worry about being on a bus with a gun case.
As I have noticed people dont pay much attention to what your carrying just what your wearing.

The last time I went to HRTA is something that comes to my mind Ronan:p
Old biddy complaining about your combats haha

    Hi Guys,

I’ve posted on the HRTA tread, but just to let you know, i’m also heading out Saturday for the first time. I’m coming from Celbridge and plan to get a Taxi from Lusk. If you don’t get a lift let me know and we can share a taxi from Lusk.

I put all my gear in a rucksack today and man i was surprised, but i’ll get there, but i’d like to take out the rain gear :)

    Hay Jinko,

Current plan is train ( the train is a bit faster (more time for sleep))
    Tara St: 09:33
    Lusk Station: 10:05
HRTA: 10:30 (google puts it at a 15 min journey)

Anyone else in pleace let us know.

PM me if you in, we can arrange a meeting place.

p.s. Never been shot, looking for a volunteer to shoot me before i get on the battle field (my wife refuses :( )

haha, well i wouldnt advise it at close range indoors anyway, the bbs can bounce all over the place and you might get one in the eye,
theres plenty of time fot you to put yourself forward as a target on saturday., :D

Heh old women with blue hair + hairy camoflaged nutter = screaming hissy fit and potential borken hips.

Its got worse actually, waiting for Alvin to arrive last week I was gawped at by a parade of hippies as they marched single file (quite disciplined for hippies I thought) in to the station. Its quite disconcereting to be stared at by a dozen pink eyes drapped in flannel and facepaint.

(I'll stop now incase someone gets offended by my hippy comments and I get banned).

I'm meeting up with stepgrif but I'm coming from town. I'll be getting the 9:38 train to balbriggin. So if anyone wants to meet up coming from that direction post here.

But then you could have 2 complaint threads in feedback on the go.

i let my m8 shoot with his gun to get the feel of being hit. you want to no what its like so when you get hit in a real skirmish

There is very little that a clinical shooting has in common with the experience in game.

More often than not the BB hitting you in game wont hurt (unless its in the Thighs O1s1n & Ambro!) because it will whack the webbing or a fold in your BDU.

A clinical shot people tend to be cheeky and shoot as a falt surface which will have less material to absorb the energy.

As such I reccomend that you dont bother with being shot as a "trial run" and instead opt for the "balls out screaming death charge" approach. You'll get a very good idea of the impact feeling that way I can assure you ;)
