Anyone thinking of buying a new computer for Xmas might find this useful

My understanding is that this covers systems and laptops over €849.

My reading of the above is that while you can only use the voucher code once per system, you can make use of the voucher code for more than one order. Again if you find this is not the case let us know here.

I didn't use the link, just used the code at Dell.ie checkout and it showed 10% saving.

I haven't placed the order because I want to see if the code can be applied after using EPP code.

Ok the link is back in and is working properly now.


Im not sure if you can use an epp code and the 10% discount, usually the T&Cs say one offer per order.

If the 10% discount is better, could anyone purchasing use the link in the first post, it will allow Dell to see what traffic comes from Boards.ie and buys and may allow us to negiotiate even better deals if we can show there is purchasing traffic.

Hi Brightkane - Thanks - I will sticky it it a while, Im am doing some banners to bring traffic to the forum and to the thread.

Slightly Off topic (well way off topic actually) and we can test it here, It has occured to me that many users do not look at stickies, they can get lost sometimes as they frequently just have the forum rules which once read (if read - at all) tend not to be looked at very often. A thread that is moving up and done the forum as users read and post, generally gets more views.

Perhaps a locked sticky that has a link to the Live Thread might have more impact - will have to think about it.

I ordered an Inspiron 1520 earlier today, 2gig Core2Duo, 2gb RAM, 160gig HD, 15.4 1440x900 display, 8600gt graphics, all for less than €980 delivered. Thats cheaper than than a slightly lower spec machine in the Dell outlet shop, I'm well pleased:D. I did forget to add bluetooth though, never mind, will just use my dongle, would have been nice to have it built in though.

You can buy the built in modules on ebay and install it yourself.

I can see no mention of this in the T&C's...
It just says

Sadly discount only applies to home systems Vostro is considered a business system. Maybe next time:)

Dell Outlet items
Unfortunately, the voucher is not redeemable through the Outlet Centre but is specific to all new systems - Desktops, Notebooks and XPS.

EPP Scheme
The voucher cannot be utilised in conjunction with an EPP Scheme – it’s one or the other. - So Dell say:)

A Question.
What sort of systems Desktop/Laptop would really appeal? You never know Dell might do something special if there is enough buying power.

Well I know you said that the vostros weren't included because they are considered business systems but they get recommended quite a bit over on laptops forum to home users so if there was any way you could swing it then that would be cool.

Also is there any way you could try and get the price threshold lowered? A lot of the laptops recommended are for people buying something for basic enough uses and wouldn't be over the €860 needed to qualify for the discount. Even if you could get free delivery or a smaller discount on cheaper systems that would be great.

The 1520 arrived today, but still waiting on the 1521 to be despatched, it's still in Pre-Production since Sunday....

My sisters vostro spend about 5 days in pre-production, I was full sure the bloody thing would never get delivered. On the fifth day the status changed to dispatched and it was delivered on the sixth.

thats what happened with my 1720, if its changed to dispatched its gonna be at your house the day after. superb offer when combined with the epp and whatever other dell offers you can get your hand on (dmxdimension) i got a 1720 worth about 1300-1400 for 1050

Hopefully that's the case, it's still in Pre-Production though. As long as I get it before Christmas it doesn't really matter though.

all they would do is give me free delivery after i argued i bought 3 laptops already this week.
