    Hi,

In the uk now, and getting an 18-month contract soon and wondering if anyone has any ideas what network/phone would be best for me, considering i call/text ireland so frequently.

Not familiar with any of the international rates, but i saw a good deal on Orange the other day for 500mins / unlimited texts

    Cheers
    Will

I would say 3 because when you're home you will not incur any roaming charges and X-series at 5GBP a month is a bargain. In addition, you may add international saver too @ 15GBP a month to call Irish landlines and landlines throughout the world.

Failing that, look at O2 UK and NOT Orange as they will give you SMS to Ireland at 10p each, subject to various "bolt-ons", plus reasonably cheap calls too.

stay away from the 'virgin' network anyway. the bastards charged me 20p to send a text to ireland.
