    Hi,

Am wondering if anyone has any good recomendations for games for a 5 yr old girl?

She has Cosmic Family and enjoys it.

Biggest problem is that she's in junior infants so can't read yet! Cosmic Family was well written in that it had no text at all (such as "Click Here to Continue") so she could follow it fine.

I've looked at some others but they all seem to have text???? (Sims, Mario)

That playground game is getting bad reviews but maybe its OK for a 5 yr old?

Sonic Rush doesn't have any text. You could check out all those Disney movie ones like Cars and Shrek.

The OP is talking about the Wii, not the DS ;)

All I can really think of is Warioware:Smooth Moves. Which is great fun.

Ah, was wondering when Cosmic Family was released on the DS.

There's a new High School Musical game out that seems to be THE thing for girls this Xmas. It's a karaoke/Singstar type thing with microphones. Depends on how badly you want to torture yourself though.

Rayman Raving Rabbids would be good if she's quick at picking things up and figuring out what to do without reading the instructions. It's a bunch of mini games and on the rails shooter thingy.

If you can pick up a Gamecube memory card and controller there's Crash Bandicoot and loads more available for the Gamecube that which would also be compatible with your Wii.

Everything I'm thinking of for the Wii seems to have text really. Especially in the mini game ones as the objectives are generally explained individually. I wouldn't say a 5 year old would be big on Wario either.

mario party if she has siblings?;) and i remember there are few puzzle game, like Kororinpa, see here:http://www.wiisworld.com/wii-games/Puzzle/, and i remember there is a game controlling aeroplane using wiimote?nice for kids i wonder?

anyway,i saw a 3+ on the cover of my mario galaxy, think of it seriously, any children above 3 will be able to finish the game, they give a big number showing how many stars you need ,which is kinda nice for kids?overall you'll need 60 stars to complete the game(no spoiler here as Martian even knew this i guess) ,i am sure any children will be able to do that.i am thinking that nintendo actually consider stuffs in the game for children...get mario i would say!maybe u will end up having fun with her!:D

The age on the cover has nothing to do with difficulty. It refers to the content in games, as in sex, violence, etc. Quick guide to ratings..

Mario Galaxy is good if she's good at figuring out things but I've learned from the kids I babysit that what you'd normally expect to be popular isn't always so. Mario 64 for example was deemed too difficult by one girl because of how you need to find the levels and your aims aren't always straight forward. A simply laid out game with a clear aim would probably be less frustrating for younger kids.

My Sims on the wii is a good game for the younger generation. My daughter is 7 and loves the game - just a thought.
