Two Tone AEG's

Just noticed this on Airsoft Scotland's website Two-Tone AEG's. Seems like a novel way of getting around the VCRA. A section in the act (not sure where) specifies that an AEG may not be considered a Replica Imitation Firearm (RIF) if it is coloured bright yellow, green, blue, purple, orange or (for the ladies) pink.

Oh god I think I just got a little sick in my mouth after looking at those. Thank god they haven't got any in pink yet!!! Although I suppose a pink FAL would be an improvement

Some of them looks kinda alright.,lol., beats the whole purpose of making them so detailed and like the real thing if you paint it a funny colour though.,lol

What does a bottle of paint stripper cost? Or a can of Krylon. Seems like a loophole in the VCRA to me.

The ones on that page are injection molded, so the color is in the plastic. There is also a reference on the page to a line in the VCRA that states it is illegal to modify a replica to make it look more realistic

Seems like a loophole in the VCRA to me

im afraid not they even quote it on the site ''lease note: Under Section 36 of the V.C.R. Act it is a criminal offence to alter the appearance of an imitation firearm to make it into a realistic imitation firearm. Our interpretation of this Act is that even painting one of these guns would contravene the Act.''

and it looks like the color is not painted on but indeed the sections are cast in that colored material

Plastic bit are definatly cast in the green/blue or whatever.

Looks like a little bit of law wont get in their way

Still, I think its a great idea, to let these be gotten by anyone, and the real ones be more strictly regulated. Would shut up a lot of people complaining about airsoftr over here, as the main problem is people saying how real they look. That green G36C looks "wikkid cool" too
