Xmass Benefit gig OLD SEASON Fri 14th Dec Voodoo in Dublin

Friday 14th December in the Voodoo Lounge in Dublin, Old Season and Apocalyptic Masterpiece. 10er at the door.

Its a benefit gig for the kildare animal shelter the cover charge goes straight to the charity. In the spirit of xmass deadliness; for your cover charge ye get to see the might of OLD SEASON and the black black Irish Black metal of Apocalyptic Masterpiece AND you get entered into 3 free raffles for the latest merch from MAYHEM (Cant wait) Machinehead and Trivium.

Sentinel records in templebar are putting up a stall and are throwing in some more merch for the raffle so there'll be random spot prizes for most\least drunken person.

So if ye fancy braving the winter cold after work and givin a 10er towards feeding the abandoned strays and the vet bills for injured or abused animals that never get put down by the shelter (If we only cover costs itll be close to 2 grand handed to em) I'll see ye there for a pint.

Theyre new enough but of all the Irish\Celtic black metal bands that have shown up in the last 2 years the AM lads are the ones Ive seen gig the most and are the most professional as a working band.

This is mighty old season, theyre my favorite Irish band but I couldnt nail them to a genre.

For those of you that are new to the metal scene or those of you that are thinking of checking the gig out purely for the charity but are worried youll be deafened by some eejit screaming Ill give ye a bit of info on the headliners old season.


Old Season playing in Athens

The vocalist is an opera trained singer and the vast majority of their songs are about Irish heritage. Its got an old world feel to it hence the name old season, think 16th century Gaels making metal music.

There are no trad instruments but you can expect alot of interaction with the crowd, fist and sometimes sword waving along with a general party atmosphere.

Apocalyptic Masterpiece are like an Irish Cradle of Filth. If you dont know who CoF are then youll probably be shocked shoeless by the lads.

Theyre an irish twist to a form of metal started in Norway. You can expect alot of high pitched screams and fast guitars and whereas old season might swear in their songs, AM will shout stuff about the devil hehehe.

Cheesey good fun is the order of the night.
