Have you thought about going to Weight Watcher or Unislim? You can have your treats but it really teaches you to eat the low fat foods rather than waste calories on high fat crap like chocolate or cheese. As for exercise I only walk and swim so someone else can probably give you advise on what kind of exercises you need to tone up certain areas.

    Hi Marie,

If you're exercising at home you might like www.simplefit.org. The workouts only take 20 minutes or so, so you've plenty of time for your child.

I don't knwo how old your child is, but if you go to www.crossfitkids.com they post workouts that you could get your child involved in. You could make it a game and they could copy you, so you're both exercising and spending time together.

If your child is very young, pick them up more :)

Weight Watchers is good as a support group but it's dietary prescriptions aren't that healthy to be honest. For diet, put simply, eat more protein and less carbohydrate. The carbohydrate should preferably come from vegetables, then fruit. Stay away from grains as much as possible. If you did that you'd see a big improvement.

    Oh, and drink more water.

LOL, when I was missing out on training during some days, I perfected the 20 minute child flingin workout. Great fun for a 2 year old and his 29 year old Da. There's the deadlift, the clean and jerk, but the best fun of all the exercises for both people is to get a pair of dungarees on them and try the "child kettlebell swings". I may just record them one day. I defy you to find a 2 year old boy who doesn't like being flung around by his Da.

Although, that may not be for everyone! If you have a child it can be hard to find time, but of you're serious about getting in shape you might only need 20 minutes when your kid is napping, or when they're content in front of Barney, to get a fairly intense workout done.
