PDA/smartphones with VGA screens

I've been holding off from getting one of the impressive current generation of high-end PDA/smartphones (N95, LG Viewty etc) on the basis that the switch from QVGA (320x240px) to VGA (640x480px) must be on the way soon, and I'd like to get 300% extra pixels for my money.

Is this realistic? Does anyone know of plans from any of the major manufacturers to make the change?

I know there are battery life implications, but the extra screen area is surely worth it, for photos, maps, webpages and documents...?

    Try Toshiba G900 (800x480) or Nokia E90 (800x352)
