    Hi guys

Can someone please help me out?

Basically I'm getting sky in my apartment and all we want is the Kiddies Channels, and the Sports Channels

What mix do we get for this and how much will it cost us?

    Thanks in advance!!

ok.. this is what i 'think' it is:

theres a basic num of channels for 20 quid that u have to get.

Each subsequent Mix, ie. News, Documentary, Music... costs 2 euro each.

But sport and the movies cost 20 quid each.

So if you just want sport (20euro) and the kiddies (2 euro). And on top of the basic channels which include RTE, TV3 etc. (20euro)

So in total your looking at 42 euro a month.

    :D

Neil was almost right - two slight differences
    1) is that the first 20 includes the "basic" channels and the first mix, so Basic channels + Kids = 20
    2) Each Sports channel is 19 (Both is 30)

So the total is either 39 or 50 a month - See https://survey.sky.com/order/Default.asp

    Hi Bob,
This is probably too late as you probably have the stations you want now and know all the info you need to! However...

From my understanding it should only cost €22 a month for 2 mixes... so you get kids channels and another mix for that and also the bonus ones for free like rte1 rte2 tv3 tg4 bbc1,2,3 &4 utv 1,2,3, & 4 and channel 4 now... and lots of other free ones...eg. sky news, cnn... loads are free to air so you get them anyway...

    look here:
    http://www.sky.com/portal/site/ireland/products/packages/channels

for the mixes ... one is €20, two for €22 etc...

I just ordered sky+ and i'm all excited! Does anyone know can we do the remote record thing in ROI? I think we can... like record from mobile phone or the internet. (Hope i'm not asking this on the wrong thread?)

I thought that you had to have a phone line to get sky+ but no, it changed! wuhu!!!!! So it's ordered. Better stock up on the popcorn! :D

Are you sure you can get them individually? I thought you you just got 1 single premium mix - in this case sports and that give you Sky Sports 1, 3, 3 and sports extra.

I know that a couple of years ago it was that way but I think it is just a single €30 monthly payment for the sports. The movies were the same a couple of years back but again I think its all one single package for the movies now. Im open to correction on this mind you.

Yes, Sky Sports is split in two. You can subscribe to either SkySports1 or Sky Sports 2. Subscribing to either gives you Sky Sports 3 free. Subscribing to BOTH gives you Sky Sports 3 and Sky Sports Xtra free.

There's a similar vein for the premium movie packages.

I was just looking at their packages/mixes and they just list all the sports channels in the one mix and even for the pricing they simply give it as €30.

The problem though with splitting the sports channels is that they have this knack of showing premiership football for example on Sports 1 but the internationals and European games are on sports 2 or sports extra so to be sure of getting all the football fixtures you have to take out the full sports line up.

They showed their 2 midweek matches on Sports 2 this week.

There are other providers who show alot more sports for alot less sub, intial setup isn't even that costly, you will save in the long run.
