Is it possible to use one of the two Sky+ wires through another Sky box?

If one were to have a Sky multi-room subscription - with Sky HD in one room, and a regular Sky box in another room - could one, hypothetically, say that the regular Sky box broke, pay for a Sky+ box(and thus two cables), and then use the "record" cable from the Sky+ box, running it through the old box(that actually isn't broken), effectively having three Sky boxes for the price of two? And would Sky know one was doing it? Hypothetically.

Edit: Also, if that would work, would the Sky+ box still maintain its basic record function (i.e. one recording at time)?

I guess you could do that. You'd be able to record only what you're watching, unless the Sky+ box is in standby.

Of course, your old Skybox will only be able to view Free To Air channels after the card is transferred to the new Sky+ box.

What if you accidentally "lost" the card, and then re-inserted it later? Do they register it invalid or something?

It just takes up to 24hrs to re-activate.

The recording function is not in the wire. You can run FOUR receivers form the Dish. Sky don't care. It's the viewing card that makes the Pay Channels work.

You can drive up to a 1000 receivers from one dish. But without cards they only get the the free channels.

    Hello Watty,
I have two SKY+ boxes so it uses all the available outlets from the Quad. Howe to I have another SKY box in addition to the two SKY+ boxes at the moment.
    Regards
