    Hi all...

Have finally decided to approach some galleries with my artwork. Sick of hearing people say I should sell them, either they're right or I'm right and they'll shut up. Works either way!!

Anyway, does anyone know what the process is? Is it simple a case of photos into aenvelope with a cover letter and and SAE or are there other courtesies to be observed?

    Anyone any experiece of this?

    Thanks,

    Ip.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I dont think there is any set format; just get the galleries to see your stuff in whatever way possible. Its just about getting their attention, getting them interested in you and your stuff. Before you send copies of your work to some galleries, I suggest getting in contact with a few galleries and ask them their procedures. Just out of interest, why dont u post a photo of one of your works here? It would be good to see your talent!

hi - I'm not sure but maybe you could do up a promotional CD - with images of your work on it? Might be effective - create a CD Sleeve using some of your art work to engage the eye ;)

It would be a good idea to contact the galleries to find out if you can submit samples (cd of images or slides usually). They will most likely also ask for an artists statement. This is about your art what your focus or inspiration has been for this work.

Some galleries have a specific time of the year when they call for Submissions to be made for the year ahead.

Go for it and good luck

    I'd agree with ruskin here.
in a big way. Putting you work up on various sites will also get your name around. when you have a body of work and a statement and details on your work Id suggest logging on and registering to as many sites you can find. Its is a good way to promote yourself and possibly even sell work. It has worked well for me.

There are a few Irish sites but i don't have the links here. Ill try send them on later.

Also a good note to be added here is. when registering to these sites use the one name - [your own or an alias] that you want to use. Keep consistency with this name.
keep these sites for work and promotion

the best point of all this is that when people do searches for you or your work, your easy to find.

    Best of luck
    shane.
