This was delivered a few hours ago but after i opened it i realised they have sent me the wrong one,:( I bought the one with the slices in the slide and different grips on the slide like this
    http://cgi.ebay.com/WE-GBB-38-BABY-HI-CAPA-3-8-METAL-GBB-Airsoft-Pistol-8_W0QQitemZ270171060197QQihZ017QQcategoryZ31685QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

but they sent me this one,
    http://cgi.ebay.com/WE-GBB-32-BABY-HI-CAPA-3-8-Obligue-Type6-Airsoft-Pistol_W0QQitemZ270182901825QQihZ017QQcategoryZ31685QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

Im not really that fond of it now even thoguht its not all that different, but it doesnt have the baby hi capa engraving on the slide and without the slices it looks kinda bare., Has anyone had similar situation with ehobby and will they send m the right one if i get in touch? I dont wanna end up having to foot the bill for further postage either as it was their mistake.,

Other than the fact that they sent the wrong one this is a little beauty of a pistol, its not as small as i would have imagined, (about the same size as a Glock 23 maybe a little bigger) and someone mentioned in my previous thread about it that they are actually a plastic frame and ehobby has it wrong, not in this case anyway, almost everything on this thing is metal with exception to part of the grip,. The hammer and trigger working etc are all in the metal part of the frame and has a really nice weighty feels to it,
will take pics of it in while :)

    EDIT:
pics added, they dont really do it justice but i havent got access to decent light at the moment,.

Who wants a ported slide anyway? That baby is sweet.

Yeah the all metal was debated before.

They mean "full metal" as in all the parts that are metal in the real gun are metal, so dont be dissapointed its accurate in that sense, as the real steel versions have synthetic lower frames.

Hows the grip safety on that model, I got a 5.1 recently and had to fix it.

Edit: If there was a price difference they'll refund it and offer 5$ off next purchase probably, for this though I personally wouldnt bother as you prob would be stuck with half the postage and the hassle and extra waiting, and I think the clean slide looks nice anyway!

its pure sweet, i do really like this, just that in the first place i had chose the one with the holes in the slide over this one so dunno if i should get in touch with them about it. I test fired a few bbs through it and im very impressed with it, it locks back when empty with no problems at all, everything feels really solid aswell., If i was to have one niggle about it, it would be that the mag has a slight wobble in it but its hardly noticable at all.
the recoil is very impressive compared to my M9 and all together i think its a heavier pistol.,

@ Alvin T.Grey, isnt your one a ported slide?

Would you recommend the 5.1 Motosam?

€166 is a pair...Hmmm, what holsters fit them?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

Will try it in my dropleg in a few mins, think the M1911 ones would fit aswell, not 100% on that though,

It is indeed. I'm not a big fan of the ported slide. Too 'Gangsta' for my liking. That and the fact that you are paying for a metal slide for the recoil effect mostly. Ported slides are designed to reduce that effect.

Seems a little Irish to me.

Anyhoo, I got mine from stock so I didn't have the option of the full slide. Having said that, there is no excuse bar a mid-life crisis for a Dragon slide.
You know, Red car, younger girlfriend named Bambi, toupe, and Dragon slide.

    Sad.

They're the first generation, and as such the most problematic, Arnies airsoft, and airsoft forum.com have stickies dedicated to they're problems!

But They are fixable, and usable.

    The common faults are,

1 : Heavy Pot metal slide, means gas guzzling, sluggish recoil due to weight.
Can be helped by polishing slide rails to reduce friction, easy and
    reccomended.

2 : Mags can blow up, only buy TM ones

3 : Grip safeties often dont work, but there are quick fixes available, I posted
a proper fix for this in trouble shooting.

4 : Sometimes seals arent great, so loss of power and blowback.

Generally, mine is grand, I fixed the grip safety well, and filed the paint off the slide rails to reduce friction. My frame to slide fit is very good.

Id advice reading the arnies pistol thread to get an idea of whether or not you want one.

Edit: I much prefer the 1911, you probably would too, I have both but would sell the hi capa if I felt I wanted another gbb. I've a pic of them side by side in the "pics of your equipment" thread.

If it bothers you that much, a couple of twists of PTFE tape on the Mags should sort that out. But all in all I wouldn't bother.

it was the slide grips aswell that i had picked it for, the ones on this are just straight cut and look very "1911" looking., I might just keep it and see if there spare slides available, I could get a ported silver one so I could chop and change whenever i get bored.,lol

was it you that as talking about not being able to afford going to HRTA in another thread.,:p

Guarders Infinity slide for the Hi-capa would be your best bet for that.
Oh, I forgot it's a Baby. Getting a range of slides might be difficult. Still, they may do one custom for it.

yeah i recon it might be a bit of a tough one, ill google it and see waht comes up, as for the holsters leathal, its fits nicely in the dropleg hoslter i have, its usually home to an M9 so its not exactly a small holster.,

That's something you won't regret. Mind you, the ABS slide is a little weak. Be carefull throwing it around. They also suffer somewhat from loose mags when locked in.
Other then that it's a top notch sidearm, and one which is often underestemated much to the detriment of the opposition.
