Poker Site That has Options to Limit Play levels, (Online Degenerate Help)

Is there any site out there that can enforce bankroll managment to a certain degree. I/E. Play only as high as 50sng or 1-2 NL..

If a change was necessary a phone call would be required and take 24 hours, somewhat like the deposit limits on most sites.

This would be massively +EV for me..

I have built of 3-4-5k from almost nothing on number of occasions only to cash out 1-2 grand and just blow the rest...

An example would be playing bad in a local 50e tourney, then going home and blowing 1.5k in 50-100 HU LIMIT:mad::eek::eek::eek:.

As a backround i dont really need the poker winnings, but id like to keep some, and not to have to build again once i take a break....

Any help greatly appreciated on this..

Pretty Sure no site has that feature, if self restraint is such a big problem you sure you should be playing poker :D?

I dont play that much online any more, i tend to play for a few weeks, then get board. But even with the stupid dumping of bankrolls im still well ahead online.. Not much this year tough ( less withdrawing more dumping). Once i get my roll up from the initial small deposit i tend to blow the lot on tilt playing limit poker (dont ask)

I tough i saw a tread earlier this year that could limit a player to a certain level of sit and goes, but i cant find the tread...

A few months back I heard PokerStars were implementing this but have not heard anything since - maybe mail them and ask

You can limit how much you loose in any week with mansion poker,if you choose to up you're limit it takes a week for it to take affect.

What in the name of Jebus were you thinking? If you're gonna lose money, you may as well have fun.

Think the problem this player has is that he builds the roll playing well then just tilts it off sticking his roll in one game.by limiting what you lose i assume that is how much you deposit not what you build up??

    pretty sure Stars has it

Stars does not have this, it merely has a "restrict me from playing for X amount of time" function.

I've e-mailed Stars about this in the past, and they said they do no have such a function.

Not so much tilt all the time, as boredom hits 4 tabling 1-2 i start going up limits.. I usually have withdrawn a good deal of profit already when i tend to go for it..

BTw some of the time the reason ive build 4-5k is because of running good at 5-10 nl or 30-60 limit..

Pity no site has this , would be a great feature..

This might be a good idea for a socially responsible feature actually. Restricting deposits is only good for someone who has no money in the site already. If there's one thing the recent "how high have you played" thread showed was that quite a few players would benefit with being protected from their own impulses / stupidity.

As for what the higher stakes players would think about a feature denying them the upswimming tilt fish :)

You can set the amount at whatever you like eg set it at 25% of your current bankroll

My advice is if you cannot control what limits you play then simply stop playing online and stick to live, even if you do find a site, once you have exceeded say a loss or deposit limit, whats to stop you simply moving to another site? I don't think you are looking for the right solution.

I used to be the same as yourself so i quit playing online for about a year and half.

In light of my winnings playing live i was rightly pissed off that i could not execute the same control i had playing live when playing online.

I had a long hard think about it and a moment of clarity came, i was a right tool for my actions online and it was time to grow up and start taking that figure on the screen seriously.

I have yet to exceed my bankroll limitations since and im happilly playing full time online.

I think you need to ask yourself a few questions as to why you feel the need to keep sticking most of your BR on one game.

For me personally I would love this option. But I think it's a bad one to have out there, it would stop a lot of players from playing above their level, thus reducing your profitability at your normal level.

Like samba said you just got to really try hard to be the guy that sticks to your normal level and not moving up until you are very comfortable both confidence and bankroll wise, be the guy who sticks to playing within your bankroll and not like a helluva lot of otherwise good players that go a little mental every now and then and take shots. I was in the latter category too but for once I seem to be winning the battle with my urge to jump into a 10/20 plo game. It really sucks when you have put in several thousand hands playing 2/4 showing a nice profit and then you blow all or most of it ina game you never should have been in the first place.

So basically you should welcome the fact that sites don't have this facility if you become the type of player that doesn't need it. Be the guy who doesn't make rash choices, it'll be another edge you have over other players.

The BBV forum on 2+2 would lose half its posts and luckyjimms blog would become unreadable if sites had this!

Stars kind of have it. You can't sit at the 200/400 tables without mailing them first...
