Hey, I bought an external Esata hard drive last week and was wondering how I can use it with my laptop/. I can transfer data using USB2, but obviously Esata would be preferable for faster transfer speeds.

My laptop is a Dell XPS Gen II.

    Thanks.

As far as I know you can't, only some newer desktop motherboard have and external SATA connection on the back like a usb port to allow you to hook up the external drive, so I dont think there is any way for you to do it. Bar there beign a E-SATA PCMCIA card adapter but I dont think there is such a device.
