FTV Card in Multiroom Box

Just a small question. We have a 2nd Sky box but we're not using it anymore. We have another 2 months left on the multiroom contract and at the moment its sadly going unused.

Now, I'm planning on getting an FTV card for the main box that is being used. As I read though, the FTV cards can lose their keys and will stop function after a while, and might have to be left in a box for a day or so to regain their keys.

Basic story is, with Sky monitoring the multiroom box via telephone line, can I leave the FTV card in the multiroom box indefinately without arousing suspicion from Sky ?

Well if you are stopping your multiroom subscription when it runs out in two months then there is no need to have the box connected to the phoneline. If the multiroom subscription is no longer running then the multiroom box can be disconnected from the phone line sky will no longer want to monitor a box with no subscription. You can then use your FTV card in your extra box all the time with no phone line. Hope this helps.

If you stick in a FTV card, be sure to remove phoneline from box.

I think you should wait until the Multiroom contract expires and is cancelled. Otherwsie, it'll be a case of swapping cards regularly and connecting/disconnecting phoneline.

If you have a multiroom sub you must leave the multiroom card in, and the phoneline connected. There is a big penalty for not doing this and yes, sky DO check (Otherwise people would sell multiroom cards as "hacked" cards). Unless you can cancel, I'd leave it in.

I wouldn't worrying about losing keys. It just means you might be without channel 4, channel 5 and sky 3 for a couple of days. All the other channels will still work.
