If I record something for a ringtone,

    a) What size should the mp3 file be
    b) How long should it play for
    c) How do I get a sound to loop, or will it do that automatically?

Depends what you're using to convert the audio file to MP3 - 64Kbps is fine as your phone speaker isn't exactly hi-fi quality! I'll usually find a long section of a song I like and clip it - but most phones will loop if it's a short clip. - The resulting file should only be 2-300k in size

When you say a long clip, how long is long?

Chorus of a song usually - maybe a minute's worth - if your phone plays MP3's you usually have the option to play a full MP3 as a ringtone also - depends on the phone though
