I won a bid on ebay for the following item.

If you go down to postage and packing and select Ireland it says postage is free.

The seller is now looking for £10 for delivary.

If you look at the item discription and look at the red writing he says:

We Major Ship The Following Regions: United Kingdom, Australia, France. For The Other Regions Must Contact Us For The Special Shipping Arrangement ( Require To Use Speedpost).

I presumed that the countries was just a list of examples, or that he taught Ireland was part of the UK but i presumed seeing that it clearly says free shiping to ireland , that it was free shipping to Ireland!

What do you think i should do? I've already paid him £96 (£5 for insurance) by paypal.

    Regards

In the drop down menu, it says free shipping to Ireland. If it's coming from HK, there's no difference in shipping cost to seller. Report him, enclosing his demand to ebay and tell him to get a life!

Well the text contradicts the drop-down and in the spirt of caveat emptor I would have contacted him first based on what the text says rather than rely on the drop-down and assume it's free. He does needs to fix his drop-down but I'd still say you'll have to pay the tenner.

The seller is at fault here, not you, he made the mistake. However he will probably give you negative feedback so it's up to you whether your feedback rating is more important than the £10 unfortunately.

Have you contacted him telling him that the item description clearly says shipping to Ireland is free and that you wouldn't have bought the item had you known there was a hidden charge?

have been in contact with him, and all he is saying is that says there will be an extra fee, i thought ebay would sort it , but they want nothin to do with it! I've offered to split the postage , if they refuse that i'll say i dont want it.

was suprised when i came home today to find the phone had been delivered this week. The seller never said they had sent it!? Nice suprise!

I suppose the seller had posted it before demanding the extra postage fee hoping you'd pay before you got it.
