Another win for the lad yesterday. KO in the first. He is keeping active this year, with another fight due in Dublin next month.

Lovely guy, with his feet firmly on the ground. Is still quite raw, but has plenty of ability and talent. Really hope he does well in the game as he is a credit to the sport with the manner in which he has always conducted himself in the paid and unpaid ranks.

Lee claims clinical victory in Michigan
    Friday, 16 November 2007 13:56
Irish middleweight Andy Lee stretched his unbeaten record to 13th professional fights following a clinical first stoppage stoppage of Marcus 'Marvellous' Thomas at the Compuware Arena in Plymouth, Michigan in the early hours of this morning.

Lee dropped the Barbados born puncher with a left inside the first minute but Thomas beat the count only to be subjected to another barrage of punches from Lee before being floored again and counted out after a left uppercut midway through the round.

Thomas had won ten of his twelve fights before last night's brief encounter with the 23-year-old Limerick southpaw, who was co-headlining last night's promotion with his Detroit Kronk stable-mate Jonathon Banks.

Lee said: 'I caught him with a good left and he went down but beat the count. I moved in swiftly and caught him with a few body shots before I landed a good left hook and he went down again.

'I'm delighted with the win and my performance and the reception I got from the crowd here as there was a great atmosphere for the fight.'

Lee, who boxes out of the renowned Kronk in Detroit, has now recorded 10 KO's in his 13 victories and will top the bill in his next fight at the National Stadium in Dublin on December 15.

The former Irish *******n is still waiting for his opponent to be confirmed, however, experienced Michigan born Cory Johnson is being mentioned as a possible opponent.

Johnson has won 34 of his forty fights, and his coach Dyrell Chambers was at ringside for last nights clash with Thomas and also showed up for the weight-in on Wednesday.

He is. In and out of the ring. He was a nice kid when he trained at the local club here, and he has not changed a bit since turning pro. He still looks up all the old faces when he gets back to Limerick, and has no airs or graces about him, and has a burning desire and a quiet confidence.

its got to do with a certain ban on discussing a certain promotion company who are affiliated or own (?) a certain theatre that sounds like the word you are using. Legal action and all that jazz

Anyway, good stuff to Lee, I'm relishing his fight here in Ireland next month
